 The Armory

What is The Armory?

The Armory provides the perfect environment to learn, have fun and get better at your game.

The range building, nicknamed 'The Armory' is where golfers can pick up essential tools needed such as tees, gloves, towels, drinks, snacks, and other accessories. Range balls are available from the ball dispenser at the side of The Armory building.

The award winning, certified and friendly professional staff at the The Armory is here to provide you a fun and optimal experience in customized goal oriented one on one instruction and performance coaching. Our expertise encompasses the physical, technical, playing strategy, learning/feedback models, mental strategy, and emotional aspects of the game. The learning environment goes beyond just the practice facility to on course coaching as well. Whether it is a tune up, on-course coaching, golf school, or a long range coaching program you are looking for, the The Armory has just what you need.

To get better at golf, you need to train for it. The The Armory is open to students taking lessons. The facility has everything you need to train all your long and short game golf skills. The The Armory includes: grass and artificial turf tees, putting green, chipping & pitching area, 2 sand bunkers, a variety of range targets, a 3 hole skirmish course and more.

One of the things that makes the The Armory coaching and training opportunities so unique is the availability to go on course. Whether you are meeting up with friends for a early 9 holes before work or having on course coaching from your professional, getting out to play is what golf is all about.

This unique advantage to go on the course with your professional provides so many opportunities to assess, learn and train your game on course while in performance. We call this performance coaching and it includes: playing strategy, decision making, mental strategy, your idea performance state, and emotional aspects of the game.

The Skirmish Course

During the Battle of San Jacinto, there were many small fights or skirmishes that made winning the battle possible for Texans.

The Skirmish, a three-hole golf course, allows golfers to hone their skills before taking on the challenge of The Battleground. It is a great way for families to spend time together or introduce new friends to the game. A short Par-5 followed by a Par-3 and Par-4 provide a bunker-free experience for every level of golfer. Adults may walk unlimited holes for $9, Junior Golfers 18 & younger are free. Member's access is included in their dues.

Learning Center & Lighted Driving Range

The Battleground Golf Course has a complete Practice Facility. Hit balls and work at your own pace from the spacious grass driving range tee; and chip, pitch, or work on your bunker game.

If you only have time for a few holes, want to work on your game, or have a beginner learning the game, check out the Skirmish, our three-hole golf course.

The range ball dispenser accepts credit cards. (Attendant does not need to be on duty to purchase range balls with a credit card.) Range balls can also be purchased in the main golf shop if no attendant is on duty and guests prefers to use cash.
